Church Building Project

A healthy crowd gathered together Sunday the 14th of November to celebrate the end of a long journey. After years of prayer and planning, Tamborine Mountain Presbyterian Church officially opened its newly extended and renovated facilities.
The kids, led by Annette Harden entertained with song and dance. Pastor Kim Dale gave the thanksgiving message focussing on our thankfulness towards God for the spiritual growth of His followers.   Present and past attendees and local visitors enjoyed musical items from the musicians and the choir. Opportunity was then given to wander around the various ministry displays. This provided an exposure for some of our current ministries (for example Kids Fellowship Church, The Women’s Friendship Club, Fire on the Mountain, and Playtime.) Finally, a free sausage sizzle lunch was enjoyed on the new veranda. The air was buzzing and we were very much encouraged by the celebration.
The extension, designed by Kylie Bennett of Bennett Design & Partners involved extending and renovating the existing 1975 building. It has provided a building twice the size, a drive through portico area, sealed car parks for 25 vehicles, office reception area, new restrooms, an enlarged parent’s room, additional verandas and a great new deck linking the hall with the new church building. The design is proving to be both practical and asthetically pleasing with personal touches throughout.
Thank you so much to those on the building subcommittee and the committee of management who have spent countless hours deliberating on many details. Thank you to the whole congregation for their prayers, support, and financial contributions. Thank you to those select few who seem to have made the church their temporary place of residence as they have provided their expertise in the completion of the building. But most importantly we thank God for the grace which has been essential for the completion of the new facility. May it be used only for Your glory and for the spreading of Your Good News on Tamborine Mountain and beyond.
